The Navigators

Guild: Guides of Vurn-Kye

Dramatic Entrance: A point of silver-purple light, which forms into a horizontal line, approximately 3' wide. This line expands in the vertical direction to reveal an image of the Navigator, colored with purple overtones, glowing slightly. The Navigator then seems to 'thicken' into the 3rd dimension.

Membership: Open (usually men).

Outfit: Tunic and pants of black cloth trimmed with gold thread and gold fastenings, black leather boots and, unless the weather is very hot, black leather gloves. Embroidered on the left breast, in gold and silver thread with many tiny gems.

Introduction: "You have summoned a Navigator. Do you require transport?"

Demeanor: Ostentatious, stuffy and condescending.

Compass: A golden sextant with tiny jewelled fittings.

Guild: The "Navigators"

Dramatic Entrance: A "door", 3' by 6' appears approximately 6" off the ground. The door is invariably a brilliant sapphire blue, though in broad daylight to color is faded, even slightly transparent. It is 2-dimensional, and always facing the summoner directly. The Navigator steps through, ducking his (or her) head usually, since it is an Elf. The door slams shut vertically.

Membership: Elves (mostly Loari).

Outfit: Neutral grey clothing, the only decoration being their Guild insignia emblazoned on the left breast.

Introduction: "Do you desire transport services?"

Demeanor: A glazed expression rarely broken by any sign of emotion.

Compass: A rigid two-inch wide silver band with a semi-spherical which continuously glows different colors.

Guild: The Daruni Olkanin

Dramatic Entrance: The "down-to-earth" Guild is always accompanied with a slight blowing of the wind, a shimmering green the colour of spring grass which forms as an 'ionized' gas cloud, quickly coalescing into a Navigator.

Membership: Open.

Outfit: A bright green surcoat, trimmed with gold.

Introduction: "Greetings. May I be of service?"

Demeanor: Polite, perhaps even friendly at times, but always professional. A casual conversation might be held as often as not.

Compass: A gold disk 4 inches in diameter, with a convex crystal on one face, beneath which is an intricate mosaic of jeweled inlays resembling an actual compass and a delicate filigreed arrow which swings about in directions which seem aimless.

Guild: Cypharia (the 'Sisterhood')

Dramatic Entrance: A glowing outline of gold and peacock blue, rich yellow and vibrant lavender, which sparkles as the Immortal materializes. Fireflies seem to swirl around the body in a mad dance before the Navigator fully appears.

Membership: Female (usually Immortal, meaning Elven maidens of great beauty).

Outfit: Long, flowing white gowns trimmed with gold.

Introduction: "I am of the Order of Cypharia. Do you request a Navigator?"

Demeanor: Diffident, reserved, and oh-so-polite.

Compass: A golden wand set with gems, each with a unique, carved design on it.

Guild: Pathmasters of Hulgan

Dramatic Entrance: A dull point of light approximately 4' off the ground, which increases to intense brightness then explodes prismatically. A Navigator is revealed when the characters open their eyes.

Membership: All appear to be aged men (to the point of being frail), though their real appearance might be different.

Outfit: In flowing black, grey or blue robes.

Introduction: "You have summoned a Pathmaster. Destination?"

Demeanor: Varies, though they are usually gruff and professional to the point of being extreme (even for a Navigator).

Compass: Ornate wooden hand telescope. They peer through it as if it was a telescope.
