Berrak
Bladesinger.
Character Sheet - Excel FormatCurrent Info:Berrak arrives in Cynar... "Shaal's teeth!" cursed Berrak Featherfingers. He checked his jerkin for the dagger, the only good luck to come his way since falling into the sea off the coast of U-Lyshak, rather than into the mouth of a volcano. It was still there but he wished it wasn't. Six Cynar traders now, two instant nos, two nos when they saw it, an initial yes and then the merchant tried to talk him down to two brass pieces! Finally the last merchant had asked one too many questions about where he got it and threatened to call the guardsmen if he didn't leave immediately. It was just not his month. Still, at least he had found a great place to stay. An Inn right on the corner of Grey Stone and Craft's Quarter. It must have been a greathouse at one point as it was low-ceilinged and two-storied, but now was a local Inn called Holme House. Berrak had been pleased with what he saw downstairs, the lad he had slipped a few coppers to had steered him right, but when he saw the rooms he was more than pleased to pay the twelve silver for the suite for a couple of nights. He even had the innkeep throw in a free massage and bath at a nearby bath house. It was about time they started living right, now that they were going to be wealthy. As you look into the Prince's disappearance... "The recent rumour regarding the Prince's recent appearance dressed as a beggar is largely believed to be pure fantasy. The High Priest has said that an investigation revealed no truth to the matter. They continue the search for the missing Prince that he might come back and reclaim his rightful heritage."
History:Born
to unknown parentage,
Barrak’s first memories are of the streets of Altaraak, a small trading
town at the end of an estuary located in southern Wuliris, a land ruled by
the Dragon Lords. It was here Berrak taught himself to survive on the
streets, as he grew his skill for making things ‘disappear’ kept him
leading a comfortable life and at times very exciting, unfortunately this
is what started his adventuring life. After
being caught lifting the large purse off a very large barbarian, he was
chased for several days into the Zor Wastes. The barbarian gave up knowing
Berrak was heading into the most deadly place in Jamain. But Berrak’s
bad luck didn’t end there, without any food or water he strode on into
the desert. After three day he was dying of thirst, hungry and lost,
Berrak didn’t noticed the storm coming from the north until it was to
late, he looked up at the sky as it disappeared in a cyclone of clouds and
magic energies, realizing his life was in peril, he tried to run but only
collapsed in exhaustion, Berrak was lifted into the air and taken by the
Flow Storm. Next
thing Berrak knew was he was sinking in water, salt water at that, in a
panic he struggles to the surface, sighting land nearby he swims ashore
and again collapses on the sands of a foreign land. Fishermen
find his unconscious body some hours later and take him to their fishing
village not far away. Two days later Berrak awakes to find him self in
this village on the coast of the Bay of Ulor, all the way across Jamain,
in the town temple, having being cared for by priests of Shaal (God of
water, Patron of sailors), Berrak stays here and helps the priests for
several weeks, gets his health back and repays them for saving his life.
Then he heads for Gosferd a town further inland and much more prosperous. Gosferd
was a good diversion for a couple of weeks, but Berrak again found himself
running from unhappy customers, (luckily he’s a fast runner), and as he
ran through Gosferd an acrobatic troupe were performing. Berrak used the
act as a diversion and leapt on stage, tumbled and jumped through three
flaming hoops, landing on a springboard, setting off the end of show
fireworks. The
crowd burst into a rapturous applause that faded from his ears as he ran
from the scene making his get-away. The
very next day as he was walking away from Gosferd, the acrobatic troupe
caught up with him as they were also heading for the next town. Far from
being angry with him, they simply wished to recruit him! Impressed by his
agility and showmanship The Jumping Josaphads asked him to join the group
as a performer. Here his talents for jumping, tumbling and other skills
were refined and the extra money was great! After the big gig in Norek,
the troupe headed down the coast road to Slaw. ‘It’s
only a days ride’ the troupe master said, well it was one of the
scariest rides of Berrak’s life. They were almost to Slaw when the
wolves came out, there were too many of them for it to be natural. The
wolves attacked the horses to the wagon and we stopped to fight them off,
it was a mistake, something came out of the forest, moving too fast to see
clearly, Berrak ran, he didn’t get far, something attacked him,
something furry and big, next thing he knew, he and one other were in
cages in some cave somewhere. Two
weeks later Berrak is rescued by a band of adventurers, who kill the
Werewolves. Berrak decides to stay with the adventurers after hearing
their tale and since they did save his life the least he could do is stay
and replace their fallen companion. The party heads back to Norek to
collect their reward… |
